Eligibility

1. Applicants will have to meet the following participation criteria of
“Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Intellectual Property Awards”:
  • Applicants must be individuals or teams between the ages of 18 and 35 (inclusive) from Hong Kong or from other Asian regions;
  • Applicants can propose to create and develop original Intellectual Property (“IP”) and commercialize the IP in
    designated area; (i.e. Animation, Comics, Games, and related commercial products and services)
  • Applicants can propose to create, develop and commercialize the IP with a business plan of a start-up
  • Applicants can also commercialize a developed, authorized or licensed IP with a business plan of a start-up;
  • Applicants’ IP must have not received and will not receive funding granted by other organizations or programmes funded by the Government of the HKSAR.
2. Applicants will have to meet the following participation criteria of
“Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Entrepreneurship Programme”:
  • Applicants can establish the proposed company when the application is made, however, if applicants would like
    to submit an application with a company already established, the company has to be new and not in operation
    prior to application;
  • Shareholders of the proposed company should be Hong Kong permanent residents in age between the ages of
    18 and 35 (inclusive);
  • The proposed company will not receive funding granted by other organizations or programmes funded by the Government of the HKSAR.

*Please note that “Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Intellectual Property Awards” and Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Entrepreneurship Programme” are two parts of one integrated programme. Applicants should submit two parts of the programme together.

3. “Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Intellectual Property Awards” is open to eligible youth of Hong Kong and other
Asian countries, and “Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Entrepreneurship Programme” is open to eligible Hong
Kong permanent residents only. “Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Intellectual Property Awards” and Hong Kong
Ani-Com & Games Entrepreneurship Programme” are two parts of one integrated programme. That means when
youth of other Asian countries who want to join “Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Intellectual Property Awards”,
he/she is required to team up with eligible youth of Hong Kong as applicants to “Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games
Entrepreneurship Programme” at the same time.

Rules

1. Applicants should read with care the Guideline of “Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Intellectual Property Awards” and “Hong Kong Ani-Com& Games Entrepreneurship Programme” published on the website, and “Notes to Applicant” stated in the application form.
 
2. Entry submission will not be returned. Please keep your own copy before submission.
 
3. All entries submitted must be without infringing on the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)* of any party. Applicants must have the consent or endorsements from the Intellectual Property owner before using the IPR in your entries.
 

*” Intellectual Property Rights” shall mean patents, trademarks, service marks, trade names, design rights, copyright, domain names, database rights, rights in know-how, new inventions, designs or processes and other intellectual property rights of whatever nature and wheresoever arising, whether now known or hereafter created, and in each case whether registered or unregistered.

 
4. The Organizer and the Government of the HKSAR will not be liable for any loss of business or profit or opportunity or goodwill, lawsuit or claims, which in any case arise directly or indirectly in connection with the participation of “Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Intellectual Property Awards & Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Entrepreneurship Programme” by the applicants.

 
5. The Organizer has the right to use all or any of the entries in any format and reserves the rights to use or allow any party to use the entries for publication, exhibition, and publicity of the Awards for non-commercial purpose at no extra cost to the respective applicants. Such publication, exhibition and publicity need not be limited to organization and / or promotion of “Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Intellectual Property Awards & Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Entrepreneurship Programme”
 
6. Short-listed applicants have an obligation to participate in the promotional activities arranged by the Organizer in relation to the Awards.
 
7. Staff members of the Organizer and their family members will not be eligible to submit entry for the Awards.
 
8. The Organizer reserves the right to decline or cancel any application; all results should be subject to decision of the Judging Panel.
 
9. The Organizer reserves the right of not awarding any of the prizes if no winner is considered eligible.
 
10. The Organizer reserves the right to cancel any part of the Awards due to any unforeseeable circumstances.
 
11. Any disputes, the Organizer reserves the right to the final decision.
 
12. Should there be any inconsistency or ambiguity between the English and the Chinese version of all information of “Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Intellectual Property Awards” and “Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Entrepreneurship Programme”, the English version shall prevail.
